Visa for Divorcees, Widows and their Children<\/h3>\n

A one-year extension of residency visa for widows and divorced women and their children.\u00a0This category of beneficiaries starts from the date of the divorce or death of the spouse. They won’t need a sponsor to apply for the visa.<\/p>\n

Fees:<\/b>\u00a0Dh360<\/b>\u00a0for one-year residency visa;\u00a0Dh155<\/b>\u00a0to cancel previous visa.<\/p>\n

Terms and Conditions<\/b>
\nThe application for extension is subject to conditions and regulations. For example, the applicant should have the residency visa sponsored by the deceased or former husband at the time of death or divorce.<\/p>\n

The residency visa should also be valid at the time of death or divorce, and the children\u2019s residency period does not exceed that of the mother.<\/p>\n

Applicants and their children, though, must be under the husband’s visa at the time of the death or divorce, and the visas must not have expired.<\/p>\n

There should also be proof that the woman has been divorced or widowed, and that she has a residence and the financial ability to provide for the family.<\/p>\n

To extend their visa, applicants must present an official divorce or death certificate, the old visa and proof that they can provide for the family.<\/p>\n

If widows and divorced women didn’t have a male sponsor in the country, they can sponsor themselves and their children for one year.<\/p>\n

Documents Required<\/b><\/div>\n
>Medical fitness certificate\u00a0for the mother and children over the age of 18, in addition to the\u00a0Emirates identity card.<\/div>\n

>A tenancy contract (Ejari<\/a>) & DEWA bill, which should be in the name of woman.<\/p>\n

>No need to pay extra money upon leaving the country after the one-year visa has expired.<\/p>\n

Where to Submit?<\/b>
\nWidows and divorced women can now extend their visa for one year at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) center in Dubai Festival City (DFC).\u00a012 female employees will receive cases at the centre to grant applicants enough comfort to discuss their cases.<\/p>\n

Visa renewal applications take up to 48 hours to be processed to grant widows and divorced women the chance to sponsor themselves – and their children- for one year if they did not have male sponsors in the country.<\/p>\n

The center will be open for applications from 7:30am to 2:30pm.<\/p>\n
